My first (of the many)

I remember when I earned my first income on the Internet, it's a $17.99 commission check. I was very excited because it's a result of a simple reply to an email I received from a person in a safelist and I sent him my affiliate link for one of the products from Yanik Silver. That was year 2003.

My 1st Commission Check

That "first" became a start of something big. Now it's not that exciting as before but I'm sure it's even exciting when you learn that you can buy your dreams, anything you want from that moment on forward and it's possible thanks to power of the Internet.

I have other "first" that made me what I am now.

Just yesterday, I've experienced my "first" EB with people behind the username of one of the most popular forum in the Philippines, the PinoyMoneyTalk.com. I'm talking about forum members who are mostly from Cebu. The feeling of connectivity on the Internet was extended by meeting each other physically, eyeball to eyeball, face to face, heart to heart (what else?) in Baseline restaurant along Juana Osmena St., Cebu City. I see familiar faces and recognize these guys somewhere and it's kind of like one of those "ah- ha" moment.

There was 13 of us from the original 20. Some can't make it because of thier job and some have important things to prioritize. As the event goes on, we chitchat, exchange business cards (bluetooth the vcard by mobile phone is much better), and exchanged conversation about the business we engaged in.

The meeting started 20 minutes past 2pm. We introduced ourselves to everyone about our business, some background and whatnot. Then we elected an OIC, etc. to formalize the event.

Fortuner888 was the OIC and the person who introduced the first topic, "Changing Our Money Perspective". She goes on to show us a five 1 million peso bills ( only play money btw but would be damn if its real!) and told us what we do think if we have this kind of money right now. We each have an index card and a pen for about 1 minute to answer the question. After the time was up, we pass the card face down to our left (clockwise) and stopped at the count of 5.

As the powerpoint presentation progressed, Madame Fortuner888 (she has one actually, color white) discussed how money will serve us, we opened 2 or more index cards to see what we have written on the paper. Mostly answered to invest the money, some to pay debts, improved the home etc.

During this time, each of us already ordered our meal. We continued the discussion until we learned it's past 5 pm. Though informal, we each ended the meeting with high expectations, we created a business atmosphere of creating future joint ventures and business partners and that's for sure.

See, those people who attended are serious, business-minded people with one goal in mind, to increase the knowledge, either financially or in gaining new friends.

This is the point of my very "first". Because this first EB will be the start of something BIG. We've decided our next EB will be on November 17, 2007 with no fixed venue yet. The next topic will be "Making Money Online Through Affiliate Marketing" and that topic will be hosted by Cliffordx.

I'm looking forward to that event. Meanwhile, I have my other "first" that is worth mentioning. Just a couple of weeks ago I downloaded and installed Sony Vegas 6.0 software, a HD video editing tool used for professionals for creating stunning videos for movies, etc. I gained so much interest in this because I haven't utilized my Handycam for online activities such as Youtube or using video on my landing page.

Fast forward yesterday, I captured the first PMT Cebu EB on my Handycam and dabbled with Vegas when I arrived home. For the first time, I have my hands-on "self-learning" experience how to edit the video. Thanks to Google and my common sense, I learned how to complete my first video production after 3 hours and a half.

I uploaded the pre-formated video in .mpg format to Youtube. What I did is format it to 320X240 resolution with 64k/sec audio. The original file was 1.7G and after the conversion it became 64 Mb. This is also my first upload. (See I have many "firsts"Laughing ) Imagine, I joined Youtube since October 2006 and exactly 1 year today, I uploaded my first video on Youtube.

So here's the video I uploaded in Youtube.

Please watch it and tell me what can you say about it. You could be the "first" to comment on this blog.

To the Magic 13 who made it yesterday's first Cebu EB. Congratulations!!!
