There was a much heated discussion and ramblings over at PinoyMoneyTalk (i’m inactive forum member there already) and other Pinoy blog sites and forum about how thier Paypal money transferred to EON UnionBank debit card was not reflected in the card, or did not arrived for days. Blame it to UnionBank’s Paypal setup guide and some misguided and sometimes false information posted over at PinoyMoneyTalk forum. IF you care to read the dreaded long thread here’s part 1 and here’s part 2 of the discussion. There was a mistake and here’s I’m going to correct that mistake.
UnionBank has a step-by-step guide to setting up Paypal and in line with this article, I will focus only on “Receiving and Withdrawing Money” from PayPal.
What they don’t mention is after you verified your Paypal account using EON debit card using the 16-digit number, you NEED to also add a bank acccount which is the 12-digit number in front of your EON debit card in your Paypal account.

I have been using my EON card for wire transfers from US accounts to my card using the 12-digit account number and this never fail me.
Now what I did just an hour ago was I logged into my Paypal account and I add a bank account under My Account>>Profile>>Add/Edit Bank Account. Here’s what I did and a few screenshots.
